ABOUT TEAM CAROLINA
Since our founding in 2001, Team Carolina has grown to become one of the most respected and successful boys' travel lacrosse programs in the Carolinas. Serving the CLA Charlotte region, we pride ourselves on developing athletes both on and off the field, with a focus on leadership, discipline, and sportsmanship.
Our success is built on the foundation of our incredible coaching staff, which includes current and former college and high school coaches, all of whom bring a wealth of experience from playing and coaching at the highest levels. From college playing backgrounds to guiding top high school programs, our coaches are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of lacrosse talent. Under their guidance, nearly 400 players have gone on to play at the college level, a testament to our commitment to both development and recruitment.
At Team Carolina, we offer a comprehensive player development pathway, focusing on technical skills, high-energy college-style practices, and mental toughness. Our partnership with Mabry Academy provides weekly mental performance training, ensuring our athletes are prepared to excel in all areas of life, not just on the field. We also work with top athletic performance organizations like Performance Unlimited, Roe Pro, and Carolina Factory to deliver elite speed, agility, and strength training.
What sets Team Carolina apart is our local roots and the personal approach we take with every player. As part of the Carolina Lacrosse Association (CLA), we are proud to be part of the only locally owned and operated lacrosse organization in the region. We are more than just a lacrosse program; we are a family committed to helping players grow into confident, disciplined leaders, ready to succeed on the field and in life.

The Carolina Lacrosse Association (CLA) is the premier lacrosse organization in the Carolinas, offering elite-level training, competition, and player development for boys and girls across the region since 2001. As the only locally owned and operated lacrosse organization, CLA is committed to providing athletes with the highest level of training and competition, while building strong, confident leaders both on and off the field.
CLA operates across two distinct regions, each offering a full range of teams, leagues, training, and events tailored to the local community:
CLA North: Serving the northern Charlotte suburbs, including Huntersville, Concord, and Denver, CLA North is home to the Carolina Miners Boys and Style Select North Girls programs. In addition to travel teams, CLA North offers seasonal leagues, year-round training opportunities, and a variety of events designed to help players grow and compete at all levels.
CLA Charlotte: Focused on the greater Charlotte area, including Matthews and Pineville, CLA Charlotte provides top-tier lacrosse programming for boys and girls through Team Carolina Boys and Style Select CLT Girls. Our offerings include competitive travel teams, leagues, clinics, and events designed to develop skills and provide exposure to higher levels of play.

Whether you're looking to join a travel team, participate in leagues, or sharpen your skills through specialized training, CLA’s comprehensive offerings provide the perfect pathway for players at all levels to achieve their goals.
Teams & Programming
At Team Carolina, we provide a comprehensive player development pathway designed to maximize opportunities for growth and competition. Players can try out for Team Carolina throughout the year, with the option to join one of our three levels of teams:
Elite Teams (Red): For the most competitive athletes, providing high-level training and exposure.
Select Teams (White and Black): Designed for players who are developing their skills and seeking opportunities to compete and improve.
As part of our program, all Team Carolina players are eligible to try out or be selected for Southern Stars, a prestigious all-star program that brings together the top players from across the CLA network, including official members and affiliate partners. Additionally, the best athletes are also eligible to try out for SweetLax Carolina, one of the top lacrosse programs in the country.
Both Southern Stars and SweetLax provide higher-level opportunities for our athletes, featuring elite events and national exposure. These programs are designed to enhance the Team Carolina experience, offering top-tier competition while ensuring that no matter which program they are in, our athletes are in great hands.
